Robert Knupp, DDS – Chicago Area Restorative and Cosmetic Dentist

Dr. Knupp has been a lifelong Chicago area resident. He obtained early acceptance into Northwestern University dental school after only two years of predoctoral studies. He went on to graduate with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Northwestern in 1965. After serving in the Air Force for two years, Dr. Knupp opened his dental practice in downtown Arlington Heights in December of 1967. Although his practice has been moved twice over the years, loyal patients have been visiting him in his current location in Chicago for the past 20 years. In fact, to find this level of care and compassion, some of his patients travel from as far away as Seoul, Korea to be a part of his practice.

In addition to serving the Chicago region as a dentist, being part of the greater dental community is important to Dr. Knupp. Not just a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society and Chicago Dental Society, Dr. Knupp is also active in two suburban dental study clubs. Every year he invests extensive hours into his continuing education and the education of his staff. Through his philosophy of lifelong learning, and by practicing as an Illinois restoration dentist, Dr. Knupp has kept abreast of the latest innovations in the field of dentistry and shared those advances with his patient population.

While he works as a cosmetic and restoration dentist, Dr. Knupp's passion for learning and education extends beyond the practice and into his personal life and hobbies. Not just a dedicated dentist, Robert Knupp, DDS is also an avid nature photographer with a penchant for wildlife adventure in Illinois and beyond. He has shared his Africa adventures through slide programs and pictures displayed in his office and conducts programs on wildlife photography to various camera clubs in the Chicago area. In addition, he conducts instructional programs at the Chicago Area Photographic School.

Dr. Knupp and his wife Judith will celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary in June 2008 and they have two married children, Loreen and Darin. For 10 years, Judith was a very integral part of the practice. She developed family relationships with patients and worked as a patient coordinator at the Arlington Heights office. Although She is no longer working in the practice (She is presently the Director of Surgical Services at Northwest Community Hospital), the sense of caring and connection that she brought to the patients remains with the practice today.
